    Non - Reclosing ARBPF Pressure Relief Device No Debris Pressure Relieving Devices

     

    To prevent damage from overpressure of pipelines, SMDERI has developed ARBP series Pressure Relief Device, including ARBPF type. It is a non-reclosing pressure relief device widely applicable in petrochemical industries, offshore platforms and other industries.

     

    I Work flow/process

    Initially The valve is closed. The valve plate and the seat are tightly connected and sealed with eccentric parabola shape sealing surface. Meanwhile, the valve plate of three-eccentric butterfly valve is pushed forward due to the eccentric status, so a closing torque is added to strengthen the sealing.

    During normal operation status, upstream medium gas acts on the butterfly valve inlet. There is a pressure conduit between the valve inlet and the cylinder and through this conduit, the medium pressure is transferred into the cylinder and directly acts on the piston integrated to the valve rod. The buckling pin is at the other end of the valve rod. The actuator is controlled by the valve rod mechanism. When the medium gas pressure is lower than the defined relief pressure, i.e., the load forced on the pin is less than the critical load, the pin keeps stable straight status and the valve plate and seat keep firmly sealed, and thus the valve is in a stable sealed status.

    As the medium gas pressure increases and reaches the set value, the pressure exerted on the piston will be transmitted to the buckling pin through the valve rod and the load approaches the critical load. As long as it reaches the yield point of the buckling pin, the pin buckles in milliseconds, and thus reduces the length in valve rod direction significantly. Therefore, the valve rod moves quickly and drives the torque actuator to open the valve. Once the valve is open, the medium inlet and outlet are connected and the high pressure media gas is released instantaneously.
